Week 6 Breathwork Journey: The Energy Of Creation
This week we invite you to continue allowing the full expression of breath, sound, and movement during the journey.
This week's journey has a couple rounds of toning or chanting at the end. According to the ancient Yogic texts, AUM is the sacred sound of creation. Below are a few of the benefits of chanting AUM:
- When you make a toning sound for an extended length of time, you are extending your exhale. Exhaling for longer than you inhale reduces stress and helps you to relax by activating the parasympathetic nervous system.
- Extending a tone stimulates the cerebral cortex, which calms the hypothalamus and even our pain receptors.
- The extended exhale combined with the vibration of the sound you’re making, activates your parasympathetic nervous system and stimulates your vagus nerve. This helps to reduce inflammation, stress, and anxiety in your body.
- Opens and activates your channel of expression through sound
This is a practice that can be done on its own and reaps amazing benefits on all layers of your being. In this week's journey, we included a small taste of this powerful practice.
