Inner Guidance & Heart Coherance

The Power of Heart Coherence (7:46)

"As much as electricity changed the outer world, learning to harness the power and intelligence of the heart will change our inner world."

The Power of Intuition & Heart Coherence

You're hooked up to a source of inspiration, a guidance system that will offer you insights and direction better than anyone else can give you.  The more connected you are to your inner guidance system, the more you trust yourself and the more aligned decisions you will make.

Sometimes all it takes is to slow down, listen and connect with your body and your heart to bring awareness to the wisdom and knowing that’s already inside of you and then let that lead the way.

The Heart Math Institute states that, "The heart is the source of wisdom, higher intelligence, and intuition.  A primary definition of intuition is the ability to understand or know something without conscious reasoning."

During this week, we will be slowing down to receive the wisdom and insight from the heart through cultivating a state of heart coherence and then carry those insights forward into inspired action to craft your soul aligned offering.  The goal is to slow down to receive the insight...then from a connected, centered place to take action on the wisdom that was received.

Research from the HeartMath Institute:

Most of us have been taught in school that the heart is constantly responding to "orders" sent by the brain in the form of neural signals. However, it is not as commonly known that the heart actually sends more signals to the brain than the brain sends to the heart!  These heart signals have a significant effect on brain function; influencing emotional processing as well as our cognitive functioning such as attention, perception, memory, and problem-solving.  In other words, not only does the heart respond to the brain, but the brain continuously responds to the heart.

When the parasympathetic and the sympathetic system are out of sync caused from stress or ruminating in emotions such as anger, anxiety, or frustration, this produces an erratic rhythm of the heart and an incoherent state of being.  This incoherent state caused by being in "survival mode" influences our thoughts and decision making.   This is a pattern of thinking in the past to make decisions about the future - and letting our past conditioning control our future decision making process.  Often this occurs on autopilot in the subconscious.

According to Research Director Dr. Rollin McCraty, “Coherence is the state when the heart, mind, and emotions are in energetic alignment and cooperation. It is a state that builds resilience.”

Positive emotions such as compassion, connection, love and appreciation generate a harmonious pattern in the heart’s rhythm, leading to coherence and greater emotional regulation. When harmonious states exist among the body’s systems, this is referred to as physiological coherence. As this coherence increases, it has the power to shift the brain waves into an alpha state which improves creativity and the brains ability to see from a higher perspective.  Being in a state of heart coherence leads to improved:

  1. Learning ability
  2. Better decision making
  3. An expanded view of potentials and opportunities
  4. Increased creativity
  5. Greater sense of trust and understanding

This highlights the importance of first dropping into a connected and coherent state before moving into  decision making.    Often times within our lives, we rely on  logic and the conditioned mind alone to make decisions and this can result in making decisions influenced by the fear based mind or from our own past conditioning rather than connection to our highest truth and inner knowing.

This week's Heart Coherence meditation will help you to cultivate a state of heart coherence and then leave time to plant the seed of a question and give space to  receive the guidance the flows in.  The guidance is always available to us, sometimes we just need to slow down and listen long enough to hear the whispers from within.

The Heart Coherence Technique Can Be Used To:

  • Cultivate energy and sense of peace and mental clarity
  • To restore balance and flow when you’re feeling stressed or overloaded
  • For better connection with ourselves so we are less reactive and instead more intuitive
  • More aligned decision making through connection to our inner guidance system

How to practice the Heart Coherence Technique:

  1. Focus your awareness in the area of the heart or the center of your chest. Imagine your breath is flowing in and out through your heart , simply following the breathing rhythm in the track

  2. With your awareness anchored on your heart, begin to cultivate and connect to a feeling of appreciation, love, joy, connection or compassion.  You can imagine breathing in those qualities of the heart and imprinting them on your intentions for the gifts you want to share with the world.

  3. Imagine the energy is expanding from your heart center with every breath and really tune into the feeling of these qualities.

Heart Coherence Meditation

There are two versions of the Heart Coherence meditation below.  The first is a version with more guidance and visualization cues.  The second version has more silence and space for your imagination to roam freely.  Use whichever version works best for you.

I recommend taking a moment before the meditation to become aware of your overall state of being and also to become aware at the end if anything has shifted within your state of being.

This practice can be integrated before moving into completing the Crafting Your Soul Aligned Offer section of this course.  We want to bring this energy of trust and openness into this process.

If fears and doubts arise throughout the process of crafting your offer (as they naturally do), take a moment to recenter yourself using this simply meditation; shifting your focus back onto the love within your being that is longing to be shared.  It is a quick and easy way to shift out of a state of stress and fear and back into a more trustung coherent state.

Journaling Challenge

After  completing the meditation or breathwork journey this week, we encourage you to set a timer on your phone for 5 minutes and to write about any insights you received and allow them to expand onto paper.  Writing is a great tool to process our thoughts and experiences for deeper understanding.

There is also a  "Question of the Day" outlined below.  We recommend contemplating and journaling on ONE question each day.  If you don't currently have a journaling practice, it may feel like you don't have much to write about when you first start, but just allow yourself to express whatever is currently on your mind.

Journaling gives us a tool to prioritize, gain clarity and understand our experiences for deeper insight.  Start by giving yourself the space to write for the full 5 minutes, with no agenda, no one to write for except yourself and see what flows through.

Daily Journaling Prompts:

Monday:  If you could share one message with the world...what would it be? If you could remind the world of one thing... what would it be?

Tuesday: What is a need in the world you feel most passionate about helping solve?

Wednesday: What is one gift you have that you LOVE sharing?

Thursday:  Is there anywhere in your life where you're living for the destination?  If yes, how can you bring more joy into the journey?

Friday:  What is the highest vision for your life? Is there something you must let go of to embody that vision?  What are the areas of growth?

Saturday: What do you need to remember everyday to embody your highest self? What are the actions that inspire remembrance?

Sunday: Reflect on what you've uncovered this week.... are these insights integrated into the offering that you've crafted? If there is a gap, how can you align your offering more fully with what you truly value?
